· Build a Fabric team overseas with strong expertise in sourcing and development as well as technical capabilities in production and quality.
· Develop and lead the execution of the Company fabric strategy.
· Coordinate purchases between businesses and markets.
· Develop strategic partnerships with key mills. Create and own the mill matrix and manage/improve mill performance.
· Work with key parties within Wal-Mart to understand and have impact on quality, delivery and pricing objectives by product.
· Work with manufactures to achieve or exceed these product objectives
· Leverage raw materials use to reduce costs

Responsible for all raw material testing procedures and overseas execution as well as color approval.
· Define the fabric strategy, as well as supporting process and procedure, to manage fabric successfully and effectively communicate to all involved parties.
· Build, direct and manage the fabric organization to achieve quality improvements and price reductions. Direct the coordination of its efforts to achieve efficiency and success.
· Understand the major fabric needs of the retail markets, in particular those of the U.S. and UK. Understand product coming out of product development. Provide technical advice on fabric prior to costing for improved quality or lower price.
· Work with the major mills to develop and source fabric to meet the performance requirements and pricing needs of the company. For all major programs, ensure price is negotiated to obtain the best cost.
· Create a library of approved core fabrics. Develop, specify, source and negotiate core fabrics. Achieve best price.
· Ensure placements of fabric are made with the right mill. Recommend and nominate mills when appropriate.
· Direct the coordination of fabric commitments to mills on key programs for all retail markets across programs & businesses.
- Capitalize on our opportunities as the largest retailer.
- Coordinate fabric being used by multiple suppliers on the same or related programs.
· Create a mill evaluation program.
- Evaluate and certify mills for capabilities, capacity and quality.
- Track mill performance. Utilize information to improve or eliminate under performing mills and capitalize on best mills.
